SEXUAL OFFENSES

Defending Sexual Offenses and Title IV

Sexual accusations must be defended zealously from the very beginning. Often, these are the classic “he said/she said” cases. It is important to get out in front of these cases with your defense and prevent indictments if possible. It is equally as important to avoid sex offender registration and conditions when at all possible.

Avoid a life sentence

After all, do we really want to brand for life as criminals and pedophiles young adults who engage in age-inappropriate consensual sexual relationships? Each time the legislature meets there are always additional laws passed about sex offenses. These cases must be defended, and where that is not possible, they must be mitigated to the fullest extent. There are certain things that can be done immediately to mitigate the case.

Title IX allegations

Additionally, Title IX investigations often occur parallel to sexual assault allegations. Title IX investigations and sexual assault criminal cases always overlap. The same people are involved in these investigations and often the same issues are, too. You need to know what rights you have when Title IX allegations are involved. Along with her brother, George Roland, Sarah handles these Title IV investigations, too.

Misdemeanor sex allegations are to be taken serious

Some might make the mistake of thinking a felony sex crime requires a skilled criminal defense attorney, but a misdemeanor sex crime does not have to be taken seriously. The sex offender registry is filled with individuals who have misdemeanor sex crimes on their record. A skilled sex crime defense attorney will be able to adequately represent you in either felony or misdemeanor sex crime cases, and fight for your freedoms and rights.
